During the SARS pandemic of 2008, Netrix Ltd developed a Volunteer Management website for the Canterbury District Hospital Board.

At the time there was concern that the hospital system would not be able to cope with the expected number of cases. The website was developed to help recruit members of the public to provide non-medical assistance.

The website registers volunteers and matches volunteer skills to patient needs. It makes use of Google Maps to locate and display the nearest match.

The Happy2Help website is spin-off from the original CDHB site.
